BOOK REVIEWS With Wendy Webb • In this issue I revisit an old favourite and introduce a new author. Both books are available in a range of formats through most good bookstores and the usual online booksellers, including Booktopia, QBD, Dymocks, Kmart, and Big W.
KIDS BOOK REVIEW With Grace Webb
Not Pretty but Practical Cooking with Norma Shannon • Norma was at the Nutrien Classic in Tamworth when Bristow Hughes phoned and asked if I was available to fill in for three weeks as station cook at Murray Downs. I would also be taking aerial photos of the property for the purpose of development documentation. I’ve worked for Bristow a number of times short term and am always up for a new adventure so jumped at the opportunity. Originally Kate asked me to send in a couple of recipes and photos for the Cooking section in the Australian Campdrafting Magazine. What was to be a three week stint as station cook turned into much more of an adventure that I could have planned.
